Most of my couples book their weddings with me 1-2 years in advance – but Gina and John? They booked me 3 DAYS before their wedding!!! Sounds crazy, I know! But there’s a damn good story behind this one…
Gina and John are New Hampshire natives who currently live in Virginia. They planned to tie the knot on Virginia Beach, and everything was happening according to plan! Until Hurricane Florence decided to roll into town the week of their wedding… EEEK! While the couple could have postponed – John had 9.15.18 tattooed on himself during his bachelor party haha! – so the wedding kinda just HAD to happen on that particular day. What happened next, was truly incredible. Family, friends, and wedding vendors joined forces and moved an ENTIRE wedding from Virginia to New Hampshire in just 4 days notice.
A family friend opened his barn doors and totally transformed it to a reception hall within 24 hours. Ledge View Green Houses got news of the situation and whipped up a gorgeous bouquet for our beautiful bride. And for me? It’s kinda crazy… I hold a very limited number of dates on my calendar each year for emergency situations. Like a couple needing to reschedule their engagement session because of bad weather, for example. Never in a million years would I have imagined THIS level of emergency – but I am so happy I saw Lia Everette Photography’s instagram post that day. G+J had initially booked her as their wedding photographer, but there was no way she was going to be able to storm proof her house, take care of her newborn twins, AND travel to New Hampshire for the wedding. So in a desperate search for a New England based photographer who just so happened to be available that Saturday, there I was!
Its no question that this was a less than ideal situation. But the Gina and John didn’t let this misfortune stand in the way of having the time of their lives on their wedding day. They were full of smiles all day long, and danced the night away in absolute bliss. That’s right Hurricane Florence, their love is far too strong for you. So…to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse…. its no question that Gina and John have what it takes.
Woohaaa they sure made a fun day of it.
