When Jessica and Kelsey asked if Iβd be down to drive up to Acadia National Park for an adventurous engagement session during peak fall foliage – there was zero hesitation. Abso-freakin-lutely!
Acadia is a super special spot for J+K. They go camping up there every autumn, and its where Kelsey proposed! Needless to say I was beyond pumped to create photos together in such a meaningful place.
The day of the session, we met for coffee at a cute little cafe in Bar Harbor, then made our way to the park! We drove the loop – taking pitstops at Otter Cliffs and Eagle Lake along the way. The session could have wrapped up there – but quite honestly, we were having far too much fun exploring together! We knew we were running out of sunlight, but we were also feeling super ambitious. So after a unanimous vote, we found ourselves hiking up bubble rock trail to catch the sunset. Lucky for us – we made it to the top, right in time to enjoy the most beautiful pink sky.
It was a steep climb up, but the views of Jordan Pond from the top were worth every single huff and puff. The rolling hills that surrounded us were so warm and bright. Everything was peaceful and still. It was an insanely beautiful moment.
We soaked up every last minute of that colorful sunset. Which meant, we had to hike back down IN THE DARK!! Thank goodness for those handy dandy iphone flashlights. Haha! It was an incredibly fun adventure that I will truly remember forever – Im so grateful I was able to share that experience with an amazing couple like Jessica and Kelsey.
Thank you for inviting me to wander in Acadia with you, J+K! I canβt wait to be back up in Maine with the two of you this September for your WEDDING!! π
