A Playful + Romantic Engagement Session in Newport, Rhode Island

Jarret was the last sibling that Maddie became friends with in high school – first his older sister, then his little brother. Finally after college, Maddie and Jarret were both single – and Maddie POUNCED. She always thought he was so cute in high school, and the timing was finally right!

A few years, a golden retriever puppy, and many bottles of red wine later, Jarret and Maddie vacationed to Newport for his birthday. He hadn’t proposed on their trip to Ireland like she suspected, and was picking up some hints on this trip now. Jarret set up a GoPro to take a few photo of them (which was actually a video) and finally proposed! When they got back to their cottage, his sister and her best friend were there to celebrate!

So, it was natural that they wanted their engagement session to be in Newport! We started downtown taking photos at the marina, then went to the very spot by the water where Jarret proposed! The ocean was as warm as bathwater, and we all splashed around in the waves. Jarret even dunked all the way under at the end of the session. So fun! 🙂

They’re getting married at the Red Barn at Hampshire College next fall – we can’t wait!
