Eli was pretty slick when it came to woo-ing Ayana – they met at the gym, and he asked if she was a personal trainer – of course she wasn’t, but he successfully broke the ice and continued to talk over the next few months. Finally, he asked her out on a date – but she lost his number! Ayana was so embarrassed to admit it and just waited until he asked her on another date. They’ve been together ever since, six and a half years later! Eli proposed on their trip to Italy, overlooking the city of Rome from Janiculum Terrace, where he got down on one knee and Ayana started sobbing. Their restaurant was waiting for them and knew the surprise, and they spent the night eating Italian food and celebrating with champagne. Now, they live together with their beloved kitty, enjoy meals cooked by Eli, love watching sports, and are obsessed with Mexican food.
They had a ceremony at Boston City Hall with their friends and family, where they wrote their own vows and broke the glass, a nod to Eli’s Jewish heritage. They took a stroll through Beacon Hill and the Boston Public Garden for the most romantic photos, then ended with an outdoor reception at Branch Line restaurant in Watertown. A perfect ending to a perfect day! Congratulations, Ayana + Eli!!
